Airfy, Product Design and Art Direction.

2017

Airfy is a Berlin-based company with globally distributed teams. I joined the team in its nascent stage, tasked with establishing brand identity and product design. Over the course of two years, we successfully executed 26 internal projects, ranging from print advertisements to the development of sophisticated Wi-Fi management dashboards.

The foundation of product lies in Wi-Fi technology, with core features strategically designed to enhance customer retention in local businesses. Airfy provides an intuitive application for efficient Wi-Fi management, coupled with hardware products equipped with Wi-Fi technology, ensuring an exceptional and reliable connection.

Foundation

Once we had a comprehensive list of features, our next step was to meticulously organize them into pages and user flows, ensuring an intuitive structure for the application and a seamless user experience.

With a well-organized set of features and content for each page, we proceeded to develop high-fidelity wireframes. To validate these wireframes, we conducted internal testing using clickable prototypes created with InVision. This iterative process allowed us to fine-tune the user interface and ensure optimal functionality.

Applications

Node Public is designed for business owners, offering features to monitor location analytics, create surveys, and keep track of visitors.

Node Partner, exclusively accessible to our partners, serves as a monitoring tool for their customers, enabling them to provide efficient support.

Node God, an internal application, empowers administrators with the ability to manage partners and public customers. It allows customization of the application, provides support, and facilitates updates.

Node Wizard is an onboarding tool for both partners and public customers. Specifically built to aid in the installation process, it collects necessary information for new account creation, ensuring a smooth start for Airfy's hardware solution.

Node Portal, application used by local business visitors for WiFi access, functions as a marketing tool. It conducts surveys and builds a visitor base for future promotional announcements.

Website

With a comprehensive application boasting a multitude of features, the challenge lay in creating a website that felt light yet offered ample information. Extensive restructuring efforts were undertaken to identify the best concept.

The home page serves as a gateway, providing a general overview of the company and guiding users to the specific product of their interest.

Each product has its own unique landing page, meticulously designed to showcase all the features and benefits Airfy has to offer. Additionally, special landing pages dedicated to specific technologies have been created, serving as targeted focal points for marketing efforts.

Miscellaneous

Maintaining consistency with the Airfy brand across all email communications was crucial within the specified development constraints. Collaborating closely with developers, a design system was established to facilitate seamless email creation by the marketing team, ensuring a cohesive brand identity.

Recognizing Airfy's focus on local businesses, we invested in magazine advertisements to promote the WiFi solution and Airfy Survey, enhancing visibility among the target demographic.

Strategic advertising campaigns were executed on platforms such as Google and Facebook to promote Airfy Survey, effectively reaching the target audience online.

In order to effectively convey product details to developers and manufacturers, comprehensive documentation was essential. I designed PCB graphics based on real PCBs and sensors, enhancing the clarity and comprehensibility of the documentation.
